President Obama in Kenya: 'Africa is on the move'

US President Barack Obama has praised Africa's economic and business potential in a speech in
Nairobi on the first full day of his visit to Kenya.
"Africa is on the move... People are being lifted out of poverty, incomes are up (and) the middle class is growing," he told a business summit.
He later visited a memorial for those killed in the 1998 US embassy bombing.
His schedule includes security talks with Kenya's president Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Obama attends dinner with family members during Kenya visit

Barack Obama has arrived in Kenya on the first visit to his ancestral home as serving US president.
During his two-day visit Mr Obama will hold talks with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and other top officials.
Trade will feature strongly, but Mr Obama also said he would deliver a "blunt message" to African leaders about gay rights and discrimination.
The trip to Kenya and then Ethiopia is also designed to show US commitment to fighting terror in East Africa.....

A film crew shooting a movie titled ‘Night Scenes in Ghana’ on the Spintex Road in Accra yesterday without permit, have been arrested by the police for causing fear and panic.

No fewer than 20 people have been declared missing while more than 100 buildings and vehicles were destroyed yesterday by flood which ravaged Oduke, Ibollo and Owelleaja layouts in Obosi, near Onitsha, Anambra State.

Oduke and Ibollo residents have been suffering the devastating effect of severe flooding which they say was caused by the wrong channelling of drainage by a construction company that rehabilitated Ezeiweka road, Awada Obosi in the past leading to a surge of heavy floods into their area....

The weapon used in the shooting was a handgun, said police Sgt. Brooks David.

10:52 p.m.: Authorities said they know the identity of the shooter but are withholding it so as not to "affect the integrity" of the investigation.
