My husband turned my children against me – Emeka Ike’s wife

The feud between Emeka Ike and his wife, Suzanne, where the wife is now seeking for the dissolution of their 12-year-old marriage in court over an alleged assault from her husband, has continued to drag on...
.

DAILY POST recalls that just last week, the Nollywood screen icon reportedly said the court idea was all falsehood as he hadn’t received any formal invitation letter following his wife’s comThe hearing on the case however, came up yesterday, Wednesday July 22nd, 2015, at a Customary Court in Lagos Island in the absence of Emeka Ike, who failed to show up in court.

Emeka’s lawyer, Abdul’Hakeem Labi-Lawal, nonetheless, represented him in court and begged the judge to cancel the divorce case as his client was still interested in his marriage to his wife and was unavoidably absent due to ill health.

He went further to plead with the court to give his client 6 months to see if the couple could possibly settle their differences and get back together.

The wife, responding to this, said: “Emeka had 2 years to reconcile with me and make it right between us but he didn’t. I wonder what he would come up with as a solution in just 6 months.”plaint.

Suzanne told the court that she left her matrimonial home because she could no longer bear the anguish.

She said: “If I was still with him, I wouldn’t have been alive today. I was 19-year old when I met my husband and he was the first man I knew; as a matter of fact, I lost my virginity to him. I see no reason he should treat me like a common woman. I deserve some sort of utmost respect by all standards.”

“Due to physical torture, my health has been affected,” she added.

The wife also disclosed that sometime in February when she was going for her mother’s burial, Emeka took her last 2 children from her.

“He promised to bring them to me immediately I returned but he didn’t. He has virtually stopped the communication between me and my children,” she sniveled.

She further said: “The last time I tried to speak with our children, it was my mother-in-law who responded to the call and asked if I had read Exodus 21 which says that if I go, I shouldn’t return.”

She said things became worse last Sunday when she called Emeka to speak with their children.

“I was furious and I almost lost my mind when my first son told me over the phone that if I truly loved them, I wouldn’t have abandoned them.”

“Even my 7-year-old son who could hardly do without me, said he doesn’t love me,” Suzanne said.
He turned my children against me but I love my children. I miss my children. I never abandoned them. I am in pain. I really need my children so badly. I am a good woman; I have had to endure so many things as his wife and I can no longer take it,” she sobbed.
