Two human rights activists were also arrested alongside the five ladies for attacking a police officer. The station’s Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr. Cosmas Eze said the pr0st!tute who had an affair with the man invited four of her friends to deal with his male friend and possibly extort some money from him in the process.
“After the fiasco, the man ran to the police station and reported a case of assault against his person and threat to his life.
“We invited the pr0st!tutes to the police station and took their statements. Surprisingly, two men came. One said he was a lawyer, the other one said he was a member of Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, and that they came in respect of the matter.”
At the arrival of the men, the DPO told them that the issue has been settled and that the Police is taking procedures to make sure that the case is handled perfectly. At this point, the men became unruly and this made the DPO call for the arrest of both men.
